The Irradiated World

What Remains of Paradise is a post-apocalypse world where cats and dogs have been left alone in the wasteland left behind by humans. Once this land was a paradise, but now, this is all that remains.

The Setting

The world that remains after the humans' disappearance remains shaped by their pollution. The rain has become acidic, as can be seen by the way the rocks and buildings have slowly been eaten away by its touch over the generations. While the water is drinkable, during rain storms those with sensitive lungs may need to find shelter, or they will have difficulty breathing.

The earth beneath your paws is barren, with only space brown grasses and stubborn black trees to decorate the landscape. Animals that were once herbivores have either died out, or found a taste for insects and other small creatures. Food is not scarce, given the world is overflowing with human trash and small mammals, but some may choose to be picky about what they choose to put in their belly. Many creatures have mutated from the human waste, with rats with multiple eyes and large insects with dozens of wings now being commonplace.

The human buildings still remain, though they have become worn by the acid rain and lack of care. Most of them are still sturdy enough to provide safe shelter, and are where most creatures find themselves housed nowadays.

More than anything, the wasteland is hot, with overcast clouds keeping the heat from human pollution contained in the atmosphere. There are few places to keep cool, as the sun rarely even shows its face and even the rain is warm upon the skin.

But perhaps, that is about to change.

Snow has begun to fall at Skywatcher Plataeu. Will you answer the call?
