Soul Partners
It is said that when the world was made, the soul of every being was split in two, while some very powerful souls were split into three pieces. Thus it is said every thinking creature on four legs, canine and feline alike, has what is known as a soul partner, while some lucky creatures may even have two. Legends tell that when soul partners find each other, there is nothing in the world more powerful than their bond, and no challenge they cannot conquer together.
Like all Paradise-verse, the goal of What Remains of Paradise is to find your soul partner. However, unlike other Paradise games, there will be serious consequences to failing to find your soul partner. Your soul partner will share the same soul class and soul shade as you but is not required to be the same species. Your partner will be found through out the game through a combination of hints from the GM, and in character hints and puzzles. Finding your soul partner (or partners in the case of triads) will allow you to unlock more powerful magic, the exact benefits of which will be revealed as the game progresses.
Soul partners may have many dynamics between them, be that romantic, platonic, familial, or even rivalry. The finding of the partner is not meant to change the disposition of the soul.
Failing to find your soul partner by the end of the game will make the end game much harder, as you will be at a statistical disadvantage without the power your soul partner brings. Failing to find your soul partner may contribute to a bad end.
